Rs 1000 cr for uninterrupted power supply to industries: Ajit Pawar

Aurangabad, Aug 31 : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today said that in order to provide uninterrupted power supply to the industrial units in Maharashtra, a provision of Rs 1,000 crore would be made in the next budget. He was addressing a group of industrialists after dedicating the first phase of Marathwada Auto Cluster at Waluj industrial area here.

Pawar, who also holds the finance portfolio, further said that the state government had provided a waiver of Rs 6,500 crore in electricity bills to the farmers. Addressing another meeting organised here to review the crop and water availability in the region, Pawar ensured that even though 123 talukas in the state were a part of the drought-hit areas, other regions facing similar problems, would also be provided help. He said that additional funds of Rs 100 crore would be provided to overcome water scarcity in Marathwada region.
