Saint Dnyaneshwar garden, paithan musical water founten main attraction

Saint Dnyaneshwar garden is a huge park in Paithan and it is developed as a fusion of Vrindavan garden of Mysore, Shaalimaar garden of Kashmir and Pinjore garden of Hariyana. The garden is sprawled across 401 acres and is maintained about an area of 310 acres. The Dnyaneshwar Udyan is located in the famous town of Paithan which is 50 km south of Aurangabad. It is the largest garden in Maharashtra. In fact the Dnyaneshwar Udyan is the replica of the Vrindavan Gardens of Mysore, situated on the banks of Nathsagar Lake.

The Sant Dnyaneshwar Udyan spreads over 310 hectares where orchids cover 26 hectares, and out of the other 28 hectares, 15 hectares is beautified with horticulture and the remaining is used as a park. Colorful flowerbeds, vast lawns, 10plazas and 24 fountains including the musical fountains are the major attractions of the udyan. More than a hundred thousand trees, in addition to the forty thousand fruit trees are the pride of the garden.

The Dnyaneshwar Udyan is a favorite amongst the children because of the children’s play area, swimming pool and boat rides. It is a perfect outing destination where you can enjoy as well as relax in the lap of the nature. The nearby Nathsagar Lake spread over 500 sq km is a sanctuary for migratory flamingos and other birds. The famous Male Masjid is also in close vicinity of the garden. It is the historic place where the wedding ceremony between Emperor Akbar’s son, Danial, and the princess of Bijapur had taken place.
