CISCO has submitted ICT Master plan for Shendra Smart City to DMIC

The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Company (DMICDC) has selected Cisco's Advisory Services to develop the ICT master plan, for two pilot cities in the $90 billion flagship public sector infrastructure project. The DMIC will consist of 24 cities, spanning six states in India and the key focus would be to create a global manufacturing and trading hub through smart and socially inclusive cities. Just not DMIC, Cisco will also be providing similar services in the city of Guayaquil in Ecuador, to develop an ICT master plan for its Digital Guayquil project. Besides, Stiwyn Group, based in Canada too will be availing the company's advisory services as it is building a 40,000 square meter residential project.

Main Feature of This Project
  • Shendra Smart City ( 400 Ha.) work expected to start from March 2013.
     
  • Railway siding at Karmad by 2014
     
  • 8-lane highway to Pune, Jalna, and 6-lane highway to Nashik, Dhule by 2022.
     
  • An industrial estate will be developed on around 10,500 hectares of land between Shendra and Bidkin under the DMIC.
     
  • The Shendra Bidkin MIP will be a major urban centre, and total population in the Aurangabad District will reach 11.5 Million by 2042. Projected industrial activities at the MIP are expected to generate 300,000 direct industrial jobs and about half million jobs in total. These numbers have already excluded heavily polluting industries.
     
  • There will be four major industrial clusters- the Engineering Cluster, Food Park, Textile/Printing and Construction cluster- for a total industrial land demand of 5310 ha. 916 ha. Land has been estimated for non-industrial use specifically residential, commercial, civic, and mixed use.
