Aurangabad is known for striking monuments and its rich cultural heritage. In fact, not many know that Aurangabad is very strategically located, at the cross roads of north and south of India. A little known fact is that these caves were known only to the local tribes till they were accidentally discovered in the 19th century! If you are going to Aurangabad, take time out to shop for its local weaves like Pathani, Himroo and Kimkhwab. By Road: Take the SH from Pune to Ahmadnagar. Once there, take SH 60 and drive towards Aurangabad. By Rail: Manmad, located 113 kms northwest of Aurangabad is the closest junction for major trains from across the country.
