Tributes paid on Nehru's 125th birth Anniversary

Floral tributes were paid to India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary in Marathwada. At a function held in the Divisional Commissioner's Office auditorium in Aurangabad, Commissioner Sanjiv Jaiswal paid floral tributes and placed a garland on Pandit Nehru's photograph. Besides Jaiswal, Revenue Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Papadkar, General Administration Deputy Commissioner Dr Vijaykumar Phad, Deputy Collector Shivaji Shinde and other officials and employees also paid tributes to Nehru.

Vinod Wagh, an employee of the Divisional Commissioner's Office presented information on valuable contribution of Pandit Nehru towards the nation during his tenure as PM. Meanwhile, sources from all across the region also said that floral tributes were paid to the late pandit Nehru at all of the district headquarters. November 14, which is also celebrated as 'Children's Day' across the nation, saw several funstions organised in schools across the region on the occassion. As part of PM Modi's nationwide Swachata Abhiyan, a 'Bal Swachata Abhiyan' week was also launched in Aurangabad and Marathwada schools and their respective surroundings.
