People of Parbhani shiver as mercury drops to 3.60 degree Celsius

The Parbhani city in Maharashtra's Marathwada region reeling under the cold wave has recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 3.60 degree Celsius during this winter season. The lowest minimum temperature in the rest of the district was also recorded below 10 degree Celsius during the last 24 hours, the sources in weather office here today said.

According to the sources, the current cold wave is likely to continue further in coming days in the district as well as in the region. Roads in the city wore a deserted look with most of the people opting to stay indoors in woollens or near the bonfire to save themselves from severe cold wave.The rest of the region, comprising eight districts, is also reeling under the cold wave.

Reports reaching here said that Latur recorded the lowest minimum temperature of five degree Celsius, Osmanabad 8.4, Beed 8.1,Nanded 9.3 and Aurangabad and Hingoli 9.8 each and Jalana 12. The weatermen attributed the drop in the temperature to the cold northerly winds blowing from the upper reaches down here and forecast that the maximum temperature is also likely to drop in the coming days
