66 SOPs organized by DFP to launch PM's schemes in state

Media unit of the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry, the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) Maharashtra and Goa circle, has organised 66 special outreach programmes (SOP) to launch campaign drive among the people. These SOPs will launch three ambitious schemes -- 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', 'Jan Dhan Yojna' and 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', which were started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing mediapersons here today, Prabhavati Akashi, Director of Field Publicity (DFP) Maharashtra and Goa circle said the 13 units in this circle have been clubbed into four batches to start the drives to make people aware about the schemes launched by Modi. 

"So far, we have organised 66 SOPs in the circle with help from the District Collector offices, Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samitis, Women and Child Welfare Department, Education Department and some of the semi-government offices," she stated. She further informed that 14 SOPs on 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' have been organised in those 10 districts in the state where ratio of female to male children is disproportionate. These districts include Aurangabad, Beed, Jalgaon, Osmanabad, Buldhana, Washim, Sangli, Kolhapur and Ahmednagar. 

"There are 82 special programmes, 76 documentary exhibitions, 788 lectures, 67 film exhibitions, 40 public awareness rallies and 25 song and drama programmes arranged during the SOPs,\" she added. Besides this, special campaign drives at five pilgrimage centres in the state including Khandoba Yatra at Jejuri, Bahiram Yatra in Amravati district, Mahurgarh Yatra in Nanded district, Siddeshwar Yatra in Solapur district and Trimbakeshwar Yatra in Nashik district have also been organized, Akashi informed. All the 13 official heads in the field of publicity were present during the briefing.
