Four-day industry exhibition to promote Destination Marathwada

A four-day industry exhibition will be held from July two here, to promote Destination Marathwada for Make In India and attract diverse industries in the region. The expo has been organised by the Marathwada Auto Cluster (MAC) with its parent body Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture along with other related associations, Ram Bhogale,chairman of MAC, told reporters here today. 

He said that with the Union government launching the 'Make In India initiative to promote manufacturing in India, there has been a major shift in the procurement policy of defence, railways and heavy industries ministries. Also, with its emphasis on indigenisation of foreign purchases with participation of private players, this will be create immense opportunity for small, medium and large industries in the country, he said. 

Mr Bhogle said that Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitaraman as well as Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis are likely to grace the inaugural ceremony. He further said that on July three, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu will share their plans and strategies for Make in India. 

On July four, Union Minister for Heavy Industries Anant Geete will share his vision and plans for public sector undertakings, while state Industries Minister Subhash Desai will be the guest for valedictory ceremony function, he said. The exhibition will be open to all, including students of technical colleges, on all days and also be open on July five for the visitors including industry workers from region and neighboring districts free of cost, Mr Bhogle added.
