Mah transport services affected in Marathwada

State Transport services were badly affected in the eight districts of the Marathwada region following statewide indefinite strike called by the employees of Maharashtra State road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) affiliated to the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) today for various demands. The demands include that wage agreement of 2012-2016 be cancelled and 25 per cent hike in their wages with others demands.

Reports reaching from the different district headquarters from the region stated that, bus services was affected in the eight district of the region since this morning several buses were off the road and passengers were facing lot of problem to reach their destination. Of 1.16 lakh employees in the state, nearly 40,000 employees members of the INTUC participated in the strike while S T Kamgar Sangathana has been opposing the strike, sources said. Several long route buses were seen parked in their respective depots in the region and some of the agitated employees deflated the tyres of the buses at several places. Meanwhile, private black-yellow jeeps are transporting passengers with recovering hefty fares from passengers.
