R R Patil Foundation to organise interactive session with students

Smita Patil, daughter of late Maharashtra home minister and senior NCP leader R R Patil, will interact with the students and citizens on the subject of ban on dance bars in a function to be held at Deogiri College here on December 5. MLC Satish Chavan would preside over the function and MLA of Vaijapur Bhausaheb Chikatgaonkar will be the chief guest along with MLC Subhas Zambad.

A statement issued today by Vinod Patil, president of R R Patil Foundation, stated that keeping in view the lives of young generation from being ruined the ban on the dance bars was enforced in the state by then Home Minister R R Patil, who passed a bill on banning dance bars in 2005 in the state assembly which was alsosupported by all the other political parties. However, the Supreme Court recently revoked the ban on the dance bars as the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance government in the state failed to submit the proper documents related to the ban.

Once again dance bars will start in the state, hence, the Foundation has decided to fight for the ban on the dance bars in the state by creating awareness in the society. The Foundation has appealed to the students and citizens to participate in the function, the statement added.
