Naam Foundation adopts three drought-affected villages in Paithan

The Naam Foundation, an NGO set up by actors Nana Patekar and Makrand Annaspure for the drought-hit farmers of state, today adopted three more drought-affectedvillages in Paithan tehsil of the district and inaugurated various developmental works to make them free of scarcity. The affected villages are Kutubkheda, Dategaon and Kaudar in Paithan tehsil of Aurangbad district.

Mr Patekar and Mr Annaspure along with the team of Naam Foundation visited these villages and inaugurated the works of basic infrastructure including drinking water, recycling of used water, repair of KT weirs and well cleaning with a view to make villages free of scarcity. Both the actors announced the decision of adopting these villages in a Gram Sabha meeting held at Kutubkheda village, where the villagers from all the villages were present.

They further said that the Naam Foundation will pursue with government agencies various village developmental works launched by the state government including the Jalayukta Shivar, construction oftoilets and other infrastructure works. Prominent among those present at the function were Paithan MLA Sandipan Bhumare, Paithan Nagar Parishad president Datta Gorde and all the sarpanch. The Naam Foundation had earlier adopted the affected Dhodalgaon and Gogalgaon villages in Vaijapur tehsil last October.
