Shivaji Maharaj birth anniversary celebrated in Aurangabad City

The birth anniversary of the Maratha warrior Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated today with traditional fervour and enthusiasm in the city and across the Marathwada region. Various programmes like grand processions, padyatara, blood donations, motor cycle rallies, culture, competitions were organised by different sections of societies including political, non-political, social and school students across the region. 

On behalf of Aurangabad District Shivjayanti Ustav Samitis, Prutiviraj Chavan garlanded the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at historical Kranthi chowk after milk coronation in presence of several political leaders andothers non political leaders. On this occasion several separate rallies has been organised later in a day at various locations in the city bydifferent organisations. 

Different schools establishments also organised various culture, competitions and other functions on thisoccasion in the city and around the city. In Divisional Commissioner office here Deputy commissioner Viajykumar Phad along with officials and employees paid rich tribute to Shivaji Maharaj after garlanding to his photos.


In Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) a grand procession was taken out this morning and later in the campus a lecture on topic of ' King of farmers Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj' was delivered by a Amar Habib which was attended by the vice-chancellor Dr B A Chopade and large numbers of students andstaffs at BAMU auditorium. Police have made heavy security to avoid any untoward incident in the city and as well as in the region during the celebration.
