Sesame Street set up their first school in Aurangabad

Sesame Street, America's largest preschool educator, expanded its footprint to Aurangabad in Mararthwada region of Maharashtra state and opened up their first Sesame Street Preschool at N-4 area in Cidco locality here today.With this Aurangabad is seventh preschool in the state including four in Pune and two in Mumbai.Inauguration ceremony of the preschool was held by the hand of former state education minister Rajendra Darda and Congress MLC Subhas Zambad.On this occasion Priti Munjal, India Academic head for Sesame Street , School promoter Sunita Agrawal and Dipak Agrawal were present.Sesame Street Preschools are early childhood education centres that were set up by Sesame Workshop in India in the year 2012. 
The preschools offer innovative programmes for children aged 1-6 years to engage and learn.Later addressing to the media persons at premises of school Ms Munjal said that, for over 45 years and in 150 countries around the globe sesame Street has entertained and engaged children making them ready for school and for life.Through the opening of Sesame Street preschool, the aim is to meet the needs of these young adults and help build the foundation of the children for a successful future.Sesame Workshop is the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street, the landmark television program that reaches millions of children every day in more than 150 countries. 

The Workshop's mission is to use the educational power of media to help children everywhere reach their highest potential, she said. Ms Munjal further said that, Sesame Workshop in India also produces the educational television program Galli Galli Sim Sim.Realising the need for quality preschool education, Sesame Street Preschool offers research based content that supports early childhood learning, helps children prepare for school and addresses the development needs of children. The preschool endeavours to change the paradigm in the preschool space making high quality education, teaching standards and learning spaces accessible to Indian children.The curriculum and methodology integrates hands-on project based learning, with creative approaches to foster imagination, creativity, communication and collaboration, Ms Munjal added.
