A case was filed in a lower court here today against 'Sairat', which has created history by emerging as the biggest grosser in the Marathi film industry.
The case under various sections of Indian Penal Code was filed in the lower court by Lovekumar Jadhav-Patil, through his advocate NR Thorat, making film producer Nagraj Manjule, Marathi Film Division Board and all the artistes of the film as the respondents. In the petition, he claimed that the film has allegedly targeted the Maratha community and also made insult of great Maratha warrior king Chatrapathi Shivaji.

Mr Jadhav-Patil further stated that Mr Manjule had also targeted the Maratha community in his first Marathi film 'Fandri'. He demanded that Manjule should apologise to the Maratha community and stop making such type of films, in which a community in society is targeted, in future, Mr Jadhav-Patil added.
