Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) in the city came 15th in Maharashtra in a national-level ranking announced recently. At the all-India level, the college has managed to secure the 73rd rank. The ranking is based on several key parameters such as academic excellence, personality development, industry interface, infrastructure and placement and selection process.

"We are proud that our institute has left behind all the other colleges in Marathwada and has secured the top rank in the region," MIT principal Santosh Bhosle said. "Managing to figure in the top 100 colleges in the country is all due to the collective success of students, staff and management.

We also owe a lot of gratitude to the number of industries which have partnered with us and have provided feedback to us on academia and other important matters on a regular basis," Bhosle said. Student council inaugurated at JISA: The inauguration of student council took place at Jain International School Auangabad, Maliwada here amidst formal celebrations, recently.

The newly elected student members of the council were administered oath by school authorities followed by award of badges to class representatives and school representatives among others. A group of students staged a dance performance on inspirational songs on the occasion. Management devpt programme at MGM Institute: The third Management Development Programme (MDP) on enhancing leadership skills was organised at MGM Institute of Management, here recently. It was aimed at organising an interaction of faculties with managerial staff of the industry and carry out discussions and deliberations for mutual learning. Case studies related to the themes like leadership, team building, change management, negotiation skills and motivational aspects were discussed by the representatives from the industry and academia during event, an official release said.

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Satish Dhage emphasized the importance of a good leader for bringing about a positive change in the attitude of the people working in organizations. Industry representative Sandeep Patki shared experiences in leading a team. Students council formed at Saint Xavier's school: Nameera Fatima Shahed Shaikh has been recently elected as the president of students' council of Saint Xavier's school while Achu Raju was elected as Secretary.

The elections to the council were conducted under the guidance of Father Stephen Almeida and principal Beatrice Johnson. The other council members are Pathan Faizan- Vice president, Mathew Alex- Joint Secretary, Dagwar Hrushikesh- Cultural Secretary, Bhushan Patil- Sports secretary, Khillare Shruti- Discipline secretary, Siddiqui Shabista- Health and Hygiene secretary and Patil Neha was elected as Girls secretary. The house office bearers of all the four houses were also elected. Cultural head M A Wahab his colleagues Sanjay Nirmal, Omkar Singh, Shaikh Irshad helped in successful conduct of the council elections. 

Management and students decided to help the farmers by donating them mango saplings so that they can earn revenue in future. Accordingly, each farmer was given five saplings, a release said. The event was held in presence of Maharashtra Assembly speaker Haribhau Bagde among others.
