People of Maharashtra will be deprived of basic rights if Masuda gets amended:Sharad Pawar

Coming down heavily on the ruling BJP-SS state government, NCP chief Sharad Pawar today said people of the Maharashtra will be deprived of their basic rights if the state government amends the new proposed law of Masuda (draft).
Addressing a press conference here this evening, Mr Pawar said, ''The new act Masuda (Draft) condition are before the people assembles for any reason, including marriages, funeral, birthdays and other social welfare programmes, they have to take permission from police department. It will be like the emergency rule if the draft will come in to the force in the state.'' He said the NCP strongly opposes to the proposal of the draft and demanded its withdrawal immediately by the state government. ''The BJP will have to face the consequence if they continue to talk about the new bill and people will teach lesson to them in coming elections,'' he said.
