68th Marathwada Mukti Sangram celebrated

Maharahstra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today hoisted the national flag to mark the 68th anniversary of the Marathwada Mukti-Sangram day ( Liberation Movement day) at the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation's(AMC) Siddarath garden here today.Speaking on this occasion the CM said to get the victory from Nizam clutches was more much difficult, than the British who ruled the country for many years.He said everybody made their contribution and sacrificed their life to get a freedom from Nizam under the leadership of late Swami Ramanand Tirth and other Senior freedom fighters. 

City mayor Trambak Tupe, guardian minister Ramdas Kadam, MP Chandrakant Khaire, local MLAs Atul Save, Sanjay Shirsat, Bhausaheb Chikatgaonkar, Narayan Kuche, Subash Zambad, District Collector Nidhi Pandey, Divisional Commissioner Umakant Dangat, AMC commissioner Om Prakash Bakoria,City policeCommissioner Amitesh Kumar,IGP Arjun Patil, Aurangabad Rural SP Navinchandra reddy , ZP CEO Madhukar Ardant and prominent personalities including senior freedom fighters were among thosepresent on the occasion.On this occasion various programmers, including drama of 'Marathwadachi Muktidata' being presented at BAMU Auditorium hall. 

Some of the veteran freedom fighters also being felicitated.In the premises of Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court flag hoisting ceremony was held. Reports reaching here from the all district headquarters of the Marathwada region said that, flag hoistingfunctions were held at all the places by the hand of their respective guardian ministers and celebrating the Mukthisangram Din to organizing various programmes.Though, the country got independence on August 15,1947, few of the states such as Hyderabad, Kashmir and Junagarh continued to rule by the traditional statesmen.

In those days Marathwada, Telangana and some part of the Karnataka was in the Hyderabad state.Freedom fighters led by Swami Ramananda Teerth fought the battle for the independence of the Marathwada region from the Hyderabad state. Several freedom fighters died in a police action on Sepember 13,1948, before theregion got independence on Sepember 17,1948, when the ruler of the Hyderabad state Nizam surrendered before the central Government forces.
