Mah CM to inaugurate 3-day Ellora Ajanta International Festival in Ellora on Oct 14


Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the three-day prestigious Ellora Ajanta International Festival, one of the biggest cultural events in Marathwada region near Kailash temple at Ellora caves in Ellora on October 14. The Festival, organised by the Ellora Ajantha International Festival Committee, in association with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation after a gap of four years of 2012. 

Addressing the media persons here, divisional commissioner Dr Umakant Dangat, who is also president of Festival Committee, said that the inaugural function will be held at Ellora near Kailash temple on October 14 by the Chief Minister. He said on the opening day of the festival, Mahagami director Parvati Dutta, a renowned Kathak dancer, will perform Verul Nruthya Darshan and Purnashri Raut will perform Odissi dance while Saniaya Patanakar will present classical songs.


Also Pandit Apegaonkar and Bert Cornolish will present the Sitar and Mrudung Jugalbandi respectively, while Presi Singh will perform Shivshakti Nrutya and Marathi cine actress Nishiganda Wad will host the programme, he informed. On October 15, the second day of the Festival, Ajay-Atul will present a live music concert with their team of artistes including Shreya Ghosal, Kunal Ganjawala, Khrusikesh Ranade, Yogita Godbole, Priyanka Barve, Amrita Khanwilkar, Abhijit Sawant and Sonali Kulkarni at Soneri Mahal at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) campus here. And, on concluding day of the Festival, Sufi and Qawaali fame Adanan Sami will present Sufi songs and qawaalis, Kanika Kapoor will perform vocal songs and Bollyhood actress Tisca Chopra will host the programme also at Soneri Mahal, Mr Dangat added.
