Milkha Singh inaugurates 'Race Expo' in Aurangabad

Milkha Singh, who is better known as 'The Flying Sikh' and a former Indian track and field sprinter, today inaugurated the Race Expo of 'MIT Aurangabad Heritage Half Marathon' (MAHHM) here. After inaugurating the expo at MIT College premises on Beed Bypass Road this morning, Mr Singh, who was introduced to the sport while serving in the Indian Army, visited all the stalls and encouraged the marathon runners. The special expo, arranged by Aurangabad Black Bucks to highlight first 'MIT Aurangabad Heritage Half Marathon', has on offer various products/services for the marathon runners.

On this occasion, State Bank of India Deputy General Manager NK Mishra, handed over the cheques towards the sponsorship to Aurangabad Black Bucks founder Vivek Gharpure. Sachin Ingle of Morganite Crucible (I) Ltd, Munish Sharma of MIT and Dr Y A Kawade, Bhaishree Patel, Makrand Deshpande and Bhavesh Patel of Riverdale School were also present. The half marathon will be flagged off tomorrow morning from Daulatabad to Verul, in which about 2,000 to 3,000 enthusiasts are likely to participate including Milkha Singh.UNI
