Raza Murad inaugurates 14th Maharashtra Inter University Cultural Festival

Bollywood actor Raza Murad today inaugurated five-day-long 14th Maharashtra Inter University Cultural Festival, 'Indradhanush', organised by the Dr Babasaehb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) here. Dr B A Chopade, vice-chancellor of BAMU, presided over thefunction. While, MLA Atul Save, Bhausaheb Chikatgaonkar, DrSiddivinayak Kane, vice-chancellor of Tukdoji Maharaj University of Nagpur; Dr Pandit Vidhyasagar, vice-chancellor of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada Vidyapeet and Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, vice-chancellorof Mumbai University were present on the dias.

Speaking at inaugural function, Mr Murad said that several countries in the world are rich monetarily but India is richest in culture which is evident from celebration of various festivals and 'utsavs' across the county. He further said that the celebration of the festivals bring Indians together. Addressing the gathering of students, Mr Murad said, ''Since last four decades he has been working in film industry but I am very happy to come here and meet the students on this occasion.''

At least 800 students from 20 different state universities,including those from non-agricultural universities, arrived today to participate in the cultural festival.As many as 800 participants will take part in almost two dozen events which will be held at various places on the campus to ensure that activities take place simultaneously and are completed without any hassle, authorities said.
