Bhausaheb Patil-Chikatgaonkar resigns as NCP district chief in Aurangabad

Taking moral responsibility for the party's defeat in recent Municipal Council elections in the Aurangabad, NCP district chief Bhausaheb Patil-Chikatgaonkar tendered his resignation from the post today. Talking to UNI over phone, Mr Chikatgaonkar, who is also MLA of Vaijapur, confirmed that he submitted his resignation today to party state president Sunil Tatkare in Mumbai.

Conceding the party's defeat in the just-concluded Municipal Council elections at Paithan, Gangapur, Khultabad and Kannad and owning moral responsibility for the same, he has decided to quit from the post of district president of party, he said. Yesterday, Congress district president Abdul Sattar had resigned from the post in protest against the party's top brass for not campaigning in favour of party candidates in the run-up to this election in the district.UNI
