State-level Agri exhibition in Aurangabad from Dec 24

The four-day long state-level Agri exhibition 'Maha Agro-2016' will be held here from December 24 at Ayodhya Nagri ground.Briefing media persons here today, convenor of the event Vasantrao Deshmukh said the event will be inaugurated by state Agriculture Minister Pandurang Phundkar and Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagade. 

The exhibition is organised by Marathwada Sheti Sahayya Mandal (MSSM) and sponsored by the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA), Agriculture Department of Central and state governments. The concluding ceremony will be attended by Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh and eminent water expert Rajendra Singh, he said.Mr Deshmukh further said that at least 200 exhibitors will showcase their products in the exhibit spread over one lakh square feet land and more than one lakh visitors are expected to visit during the four-day event. 

Aurangabad being the fourth industrial city in the state after Mumbai, Pune and Nashik, offers plentiful business opportunities in the area. The district has also been earmarked as an important integrated agro/food processing zone of India. The easy availability of natural resources like fertile land, water and favourable climactic conditions make the district agriculture friendly and therefore attracts the attention of the worldwide agriculture sector, he said.Features of 'Maha Agro-2016' are national agriculture trade fair to showcase technology and services, B2B meets and business forum, seminars for farmers on various topics, various concurrent events to promote agriculture and allied sectors, government schemes for farmers, fruit and vegetables tech-expo andconference and dairy and animal husbandry, Mr Deshmukh added.On this occasion, senior officials of state Agriculture department, agriculture experts Vijayanna Boarde, industrialist Ram Bhogale, Vyapari Association's representative Rajan Hozwala and Traimbak Patrikar were present.UNI
