Severe heat wave is sweeping across the Marathwada region for the past couple of days with the maximum temperature hovering between 40 and 45 degree C in most of the eight districts. The maximum temperature of 43.8 degree C was recorded in Parbhani city yesterday and the heat wave condition will remain the same in next three to four days , according to weather office sources.

Almost all the districts of the Marathwada region are reeling under the intense heat wave condition due to sharp fall in humidity, forcing people to remain indoors to avoid sizzling heat during day time. With every passing day, the maximum temperature is surpassing its previous day's figure . The scorching sun is in no mood to relent and the heat wave has pushed the life on the backfoot during the day time in the region, the sources said. At noon, the streets wore a deserted look, while most of the shopkeepers preferred to roll down their shutters and open their establishments after 1700 hrs, reports said.
