Shiv Jayanti celebrated in Marathwada

The 388th birth anniversary of the Maratha warrior Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was being celebrated on Monday with traditional fervour and enthusiasm in the city and across the Marathwada region. In Aurangabad, Shivjayanti Utsav Samiti showered flowers on the statues of Shivaji Maharaj at Main Statue situated at Kranti chowk this morning and later at statues situated in Mukundwadi, Jaybhavaninagar,Pundalik Nagar ,Awiskar Colony ,N-7 areas and Tv centre area of Sambhaji Maharaj statue. On behalf of Aurangabad, Shivjayanti Ustav Samiti's Prutiviraj Pawar garlanded the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at historical Kranthi chowk after milk coronation in presence of several political leaders and others non political leaders. On the occasion, the samiti has put 10,000 lamps(deep) around the statue of Shivaji maharaj at Kranti Chowk.

Various programmers like grand processions, padyatara, blood donations, motor cycle rallies, culture, competitions were organised by different sections of societies including political, non-political, social and school students across in the region. On the occasion several separate rallies have been organised later in a day at various locations in the city bydifferent organizations. Different schools establishments also organided various culture, competitions and other functions on this occasion in the city and around the city. In Divisional Commissioner office and district collector office here, officials and employees paid rich tribute to Shivaji Maharaj after garlanding to his photos. At Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), a grand procession was taken out this morning.
