Implement five-point formula to resolve garbage issue: Mallick


Maharashtra Chief Secretary Summet Mallick has directed that the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) implement a five-point formula to overcome the crisis of dumping city garbage. Mr Mallick called an urgent meeting to take stock of the situation in Mumbai on Wednesday which was attended by AMC Acting Commissioner and District Collector Naval Kishore Ram and Principal Chief Secretary of Urban Development Department Manisha Mhaiskar along with top officials. Ms Mhaiskar, who was in city on March 9, apprised the civic body officials of the five-point formula announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis.

The formula include garbage disposal after segregating, processing garbage through a decentralizedsystem, manufacturing fertilizer from wet garbage, setting up of dry garbage collection centre in each zones and stopping dumping of garbage anywhere in the city. Meanwhile, the AMC administration has been disposing of wet garbage through pit composting, the district collector informed.
