'Ram Navmi' celebrated in entire Marathwada region


Marking the birth of LordRama 'Ram Navmi' was celebrated on Sunday in entire Marathwada region comprising eight district with enthusiasm and gaiety. Special arrangements were made at all the Ram temples across the region to celebrate birth of Lord Ram at 1200 hrs, where thousands of devotees throng to perform pooja, arti and observe fast in respect of Lord Rama, reports from different parts in the regionstated. In Aurangabad city, the main function was held at Ram temple situated at Kiradpura locality where thousands of devotees participated in 'Mahaarti' at 1200 hrs performed by the Temple trust president Sanjay Bargaje, including trustee of temples, Aurangabad Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire and city BJP MLA Atul Save and among others dignitaries.

On this occasion, VHP activists organised a special pooja at various places in Ram temples in the city and organised 'Shobayatra' from Kranti Chowk to Ram Temple at Kiradpuea, said VHP Prant Samitimember Rajesh Jain. As per Marathi month, Ram Navmi falls in the Shukla Paksha onthe Navmi, the ninth day of the month of Chaitra. This Chaitra Masa Shuklapaksha Navami also marks the end of 9-day Chaitra Navratri inwhich several devotes observing fast during the nine days. Adequate security arrangements have been made by the policedepartment across the region, sources said.
