Skill hub set up in Marathwada

To develop a local skill ecosystem in Marathwada, Chamber of Marathwada Industries Association (CMIA) set up a Marathwada skills hub here on Thursday. According to an officials statement from CMIA, the Marathwada Skills hub will work as a single point contact in the region for catering all skill development requirements. Marathwada Skills Hub by CMIA has been set up at Aurangabad in association with GIZ- IGVET as a facilitator. GIZ is a German Organisation working in India for developing sustainable models indifferent areas. The inauguration was held by the hand of B R Shimple, Joint Director DVET Regional office Aurangabad.

On the occasion, Prasad Kokil, President, CMIA, Ashish Garde, Ex-President, CMIA, Ravishankar Korgal Technical Advisor GIZ-IGVET Project, Anand Pole Secretary General CMIA were present. Speaking on this occasion, Mr Shimple said everyone has a talent and Marathwada region has world class infrastructure and facilities and they can compete with anyone in the world. GIZ-IGVET project advisor Ravishankar Korgal briefed about the objectives and focus areas of project and collaboration and support of CMIA in implementing the skill development models in Marathwada Region by establishing the Marathwada Skills Hub.

Mr Kokil in his keynote address, he explained about the skills hub activities and stressed on the importance of Industry Institute linkages. Industry participation in upgrading the educational institutions, bridging the skill gap, exposure visits to Industry, experts from Industry visiting Institutes, Training the trainers by industry experts are the some of the activities under Marathwada Skills hub, the statement added.
