Chamber of Marathwada Industries & Agriculture calls for promotion



The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA), the apex body of industries inMarathwada region, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to RashmiVerma, secretary to the Tourism Department, for promoting tourism inAurangabad region during the Stakeholders' Consultation meeting.

The meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Ms Verma,in the presence of Vijay Kumar Gautam, state principal secretary and Vijay Waghmare, managing director of Maharashtra TourismDevelopment Corporation (MTDC), an official press note issued byCMIA stated. Realising immense potential of tourism, CMIA has been constantlyengaged in meaningful dialogue with the government and with allstakeholders connected with the sector for the development of worldfamous Ajanta and Ellora as iconic tourist places.

CMIA has requested the government to address several pending demandsof the stakeholders for promoting tourism in Aurangabad region, likecommencement of international flights from Aurangabad airport to SriLanka, Dubai, Singapore and Japan for attracting foreign tourists toAjanta and Ellora, allocate budget for inclusion of Aurangabad inBodh Gaya circuit, improvement in domestic air connectivity,connection of Aurangabad with other tourist circuits like Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Udaipur, setting up of Light and Music Show at Ajanta,Ellora, Deogiri Fort and Bibi Ka Maqbara, the statement added.
