Health rally organised on 'World Malaria Day' in Aurangabad

The department of Malaria,under the office of deputy director of Health department, organiseda health rally here on occasion of the World Malaria Day onWednesday. The rally moved from Karnthi Chowk to Siddarth garden in city, during which the health services promoted its slogan 'Ready to beat Malaria'.

The rally was led by deputy director Dr Vijay Kanhewad, districtofficer Dr Vivak Khadgaonkar and district Malaria officer Dr AnilPatil among others officers. While, nursing students from variouscolleges, health department employees of Aurangabad MunicipalCorporation participated in it, Dr Patil told UNI.

A special workshop was held at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Centrewhere AMC employees shared information about the precautions to befollowed to prevent the disease, he said. He claimed that the cases of malaria have sharply come down in thedistrict from 179 in 2005 to zero in 2018 due to the numerousmeasures taken to control the disease, he added.
