Mah CM inaugurates mobile apps for police


Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is also State Home Minister, on Saturday said that Maharashtra is the first state across the country to use technology in police department to control crimes. Speaking after inaugurating three police department mobile apps here this evening at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) campus, he said due to introduction of upgraded technology and status of cyber police station, crime had sharply come down and percentage of punishment had gone up to 54 per cent compared to nine per cent.

The mobile apps which were inaugurated included M-Police, which will help police department to planing their daily works and holidays with administration work, E-summance apps, which will be utilised to issue summons through SMS, Whatup and E-mail, and Third App Yatharth, which will be used for taking crime spot video and photos and crime related to female videos which will be helpful to police to produce in court during the hearing. Director General of Police Satish Mathur, City Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, SP Arti Singh, among other high rank and senior police officials were present on the occasion.
