Uddhav Thackeray on 2-day tour of Aurangabad from Apr 19

Shiv Sena president UddhavThackeray will be on a two-day tour of the city from April 19 tomeet the party workers from the Marathwada region ahead of upcominggeneral and assembly elections due next year. Sena's district unit chief Ambadas Danve told UNI today that MrThackeray will have a review meeting with all the MPs, MLAs,district chiefs and city chiefs as well as select party workers fromthe 12 Lok Sabha constituencies and 72 assembly constituenciesspread over eight districts in the Marathwada region besides theneighbouring Ahmednagar and Solapur districts, he informed.

During the meet, the Sena president will discuss the strategy forcontesting these elections with the party's electectedrepresentatives and workers and will also sought their views in thisregard, he said. It may be noted that Mr Thackeray has already announced that theSena will contest the elections on its own without an alliance withany parties, including its old partner BJP.

Mr Thackeray had on Monday declined to hold talks with senior BJPleader and state Finance Minister Sudhir Mungattiwar on issue of alliance. Most of the senior Sena leaders, like MP Sanjay Raut, are not keenon contesting elections in alliance with BJP in future.
