Demand for power goes up in Aurangabad as maximum temperature rises

Demand for electric power hasbeen gone up in and around the city which has been reeling under the severe heat wave since last couple of days. The demand for power has been gone up to 217.60 mega units in the city and 742.97 mega units in Aurangabad zone after the mercury crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark, sources in MSEDCL stated here on Tuesday.

As 2.80 lakh consumers in the city were using coolers and air-conditioners in their homes to beat the scorching heat, demand for power has been gone up to 217 mega units as compared to 201 mega units early in the month, they said. In view of the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, MSEDCL has been supplying uninterrupted power supply in the district, they added.
