Public properties worth over Rs 10 cr lost in Aurangabad riot


Public properties worth Rs 10,21,15,600 were lost in the riot which occurred on midnight of Friday last week in various parts of old city areas, according to spot Panchanama conducted by the five teams upto last evening. 

According to sources, the work of conducting Panchanama of loss of public properties was carried out by five teams comprising seven members in each team from Revenue Department, Employees of Civic Authorities and Town Planning Department. The Panchanama reports would be submitted to District Collector Uday Chaudhari who would put before Divisional Commissioner who in turn would send the Panchanama report to the state government. Panchanamas were conducted in Raja Bazar, Gulmandi, Motikaranja and Nawabpura where clashes had erupted between two groups on May 11 last.

As per the Panchanama reports, 64 vehicles worth of Rs 1,27,73,500 were damaged while 75 houses or shops suffered a loss of Rs 8,93,42,100, the sources added.
