Police head constable trapped in ACB net

The Aurangabad unit of Anti-CorruptionBureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a police head constable, attachedwith Gangapur Police station of the district, while allegedlyaccepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a complainant. Head constable Dhana Gonde (45) had sought Rs 15,000 as bribe fromthe complainant (kirana shop owner) for not filing a case againsthim in connection of selling gutka from his shop, said ACB pressstatement here.

After bargaining, they had settled on Rs 8,000. Meantime, the complainant approached ACB office here and registereda complaint against the constable. Acting on the complaint, an ACB team laid a trap in the premises ofGangapur police station and caught Ghonde while accepting bribe fromcomplainant, statement added.
