Traders stage 'dharna' in Aurangabad against coming together

At least 72 traders' organisations from thedistrict, affiliated with Jilla Vyapari Mahasangh, on Monday held a'dharna' and demonstration here to protest against the signing of memorandum of understanding between Flipkart and Walmart (biggestonline shopping companies), fearing ruin of small trading business.

Hundreds of small and medium traders, led by JVM president JagannathKale, held 'dharna' and demonstration at business centre Gulmandi incity against the signing of MoU by two top companies. The protesting traders raised slogans like 'Go Back Flipkart and Walmart'. Talking to media, Mr Kale said that in past, East India Companyentered the country for business purpose and later ruled over the country.

He said the current MoU between two big companies indicate that onceagain the country was proceeding towards slavery, he added. Later, a delegation of protesting traders submitted a memorandum todivisional commissioner Dr Purushottam Bhapkar.
