Thousands of devotees throng at 'Shiva Jyotirlingas' in Marathwada, Shiva India

Thousands of devotees thronged for taking blessings of three 'Shiva Jyotirlingas ' across the Marathwada region since last night on the occasion of first 'Shravani Somvar'. The lunar holy month of Shravan began on Sunday. A special arrangement has been made at three 'Jyotirlingas' including 'Ghrishneshwar' at Ellora in Aurangabad district, 'Parli Vaijnath' at Parli in Beed district and 'Aunda Nagnath' at Aunda in -Hingoli district for paying obeisance. Devotees are observing fasts and held prayers and Abhishek of Lord Shiva today.

At the three 'Jyotirlinga's, long queues were seen especially of women with Belpatri (bel leaves) and flowers. Sources from Ellora, one of the Jyotirlingas said thousands were seen queuing since wee hours of Monday for 'darshan' of 'Grushneswar temple' about 35 km from Aurangabad. The historic Ellora heritage is known for its world famous number 16 'Kailash Cave' near by the joytirlinga. 

Report from Beed district stated that long queues were seen in front of 'Parli-Vaijnath' Jyotirlinga in Parli tehsil of the district since wee hours of today (one of 12 Jyotirlingas in the country). The same scene was witnessed at 'Aundha Nagnath', in Aundha tehsil of Hingoli district, third Jyotirlinga in Marathwada. 'Shivalingas' were worshipped on the auspicious festival and special 'poojas' and 'Abhisheks' performed on the occasion.

In view of recent agitations in the state, police have made special security arrangements by deputing various terms of police to cope with the extra rush of devotees and avoid any untoward incident premises of all these temples, the report added.
