Two Aurangabad boys to participate in Taekwondo Int'l Championship

Two brothers from Aurangabad city will participate in 2018 Atlanta Open Taekwondo International Championship to be held at Atlanta city of Georgia province of US on August 18-19. Talking to media persons on Monday Raees and Naeem Shabir Khan said that that they have been sponsored by the Taekwondo Board of India (TBI).

TBI president, S K Surya said that the competition will be held at the Kings Ridge Aslphareea Gymnasium. Mr Vindo Kumar will be the chief coach of Indian Taekwondo team, while Jaspal sin Bhamra will be a team manager, they said. Besides, them, six more players are on the team with one female.

Raees and Naeem brought laurels to India last month as they won the silver medal in International Taekwondo Championship which was held between July 24 and 28 in Jeju Province of Republic of Korea. On April 1, the siblings won the silver medal in Kluong Johar Princes Cup Championship. The Khan brothers have also registered the Guinness World records in the year of 2013 for the sporting maximum number of kicks in one hour. They have also performed excellently in England, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Playing for our nation in various countries and unfurl Indian tri-color is more important than winning the medal, they said. Soon, we are going to hold a training camp for girls in Aurangabad to train them for their self-defense, they added.
