21st annual conference on Peritoneal Dialysis to be held in


At least 250 experts from across the country will participate in the three-day 21st annual conference of Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India (PDSICON) 2018 ina hotel here from September 7.

Briefing media persons about the conference here on Wednesday, PDSICON's organizing secretary and senior nephrologist Dr SuhasBhavikar said that state Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagade will inaugurate the conference, which has been organized in association with the Aurangabad Urology Society.

City Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele and divisional commissioner Purushottam Bhapkar will also be present on the occasion, he said. The main aim of the conference is to create awareness among the public about the peritoneal dialysis method in which patients with kidney ailment can get the dialysis in their own homes without getting admitted into any hospital for dialysis, he informed.

He appealed the government to include peritoneal dialysis in list of cashless medical services. During the conference, 70 expert doctors will share their experiences and present their research papers, Dr Bhavikar said and added that apart from them, expert doctors from America, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh will also guide the Indian doctors.a
