The Dhangar Reservation Elgar Melava and Shepherd Hakka Parishad will be held here at CADA office ground here on September 30. Talking to media persons on Wednesday, Sarsenapati of Jay Malhar Sena Lahuji Salve and Dr Subash Mane said that as per the Constitution, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar had made a reservation for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) to the Dhangar community of Maharashtra. However, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has not fulfilled his promise to give ST reservation to Dhangar community, which was promised four years back, they added.

The BJP-Shiv Sena government should implement the reservation of Scheduled Tribes to Dhangar immediately, they demanded.''Our rest of demands are, as per the recommendation of the committee appointed in the context of lactosecrow, the sheep should be allowed in the forest area immediately. Cases filed against the shepherds should be revoked immediately and the shepherds should be allowed to carry firearms for their protection.

''For the examination of sheep diseases, the laboratory should be made available at the district level, by making medicines available free of cost,'' they added. The inauguration programme will be held at the hands of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha Speaker Haribhau Bagde, in presence of Water Resources Minister Prof Ram Shinde and Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Arjun Rao Khotkar.
