Man protests by sleeping on pyre demanding action in the corruption case in Parbhani village

Fed up of government not taking note of his indefinite fast agitation for a couple of days, a man from Ranisavragaon village in Gangakhed taluka of Parbhani district, resorted to a novel way of protest by lying on a pyre in front of district collector's office. He also threatened to immolate himself if his demand of inquiry into alleged corruption at Ranisavargaon gram panchayat office was not met and action not taken against the sarpanch and gram sevak involved in corruption of Rs 30 lakh, sanctioned for development works in the village. Villager Tanaji Gutte came to the collector's office at Parbhani and started his fast.

Gutte, along with two of his family members, was on a fast near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Parbhani since October 1 for the same but did not any response from the administration for past two days. A frustrated Gutte then decided to resort to this novel protest.
