Administration launches MMR vaccination drive in Aurangabad

Aurangabad Zilla Parishad President Devyani Dongaonkar launched a Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination drive on Tuesday from Cambridge International School at Aurangabad Jalna road here. According to the District Collector Uday Chaudhari, the vaccination drive is meant for 12 lakh children falling under the age group of 9 months to 15 years.

The drive will be conducted all over the district in government-run schools, Madrasa, Ashram schools, and private schools. Aurangabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) Mayor Nandakumar Ghodele spread the word about the vaccination drive by immunizing his granddaughter against MMR.

"A team of expert doctors accompanied by qualified nursing staff has been deployed for making the MMR vaccination drive highly successful," added District Collector Uday Chaudhari. The awareness campaign about the MMR vaccination drive was in place for the past three months. Under the vaccination drive, 7.90 lakh children from city and 4.81 lakh children in rural areas are to be immunized.
