UDAAN initiative adds educational wings to girl students

SKF India on Wednesday relaunched its scholarship programme 'UDAAN' at MGM campus here. 'UDAAN' scholarship programme supports deserving girls from economically weaker sections of the Marathwada region, to attain higher education. The programme covers all the educational expenses for 40 girls starting from their class 11 till the completion of the professional course for the selected candidates.


Addressing a press conference during the event, SKF India Chairman of the Board Rakesh Makhija said that "This programme is a CSR initiative from SKF that aims to empower 40 deserving girls from underprivileged backgrounds with scholarships. This scholarship annually provides complete financial assistance to these deserving girls to pursue the professional education of their choice, post Grade 10."'UDAAN' was launched in the year 2017 by SKF India, a unit of the Swedish bearing and seal manufacturing company, AB SKF. Girls scoring more than 85% in 2017 SSC board examination, with a family income less than Rs 1.5 lakh per annum were eligible to apply for this scholarship.
