Harsil :

Tapovan :


If you are visiting Gangotri then it is likely that you may have planned on taking a trip to the source of Ganga river which is the Gangotri Gaumukh Trek. Tapovan literally translates into the place of meditation where sages and saints during the ancient ages used to come here to perform penance. The place is dotted with wide-open fields, thick forests and an eminent presence of deep spirituality and positivity. Tucked away in the district of Dehradun this quaint hill town is also a great option for a getaway and is ever traveler’s delight. Khirsu :


This place is located within the district of Pauri and is one of the most idyllic and off beat destinations in Uttarakhand for backpackers. This place is relatively less explored and the experience here is very tranquil. You can even opt for going on a solo backpacking trip here since it is lined entirely with picturesque trails. This place is studded with grand Himalayan jewels and makes for the perfect getaway in the Garhwal Himlayas. Gwaldam :


The sleepy and quaint hamlet of Gwaldam is located within the thick green jungles and surrounded by glistening apple orchards which is accompanied with majestic views of the surrounding snow-capped Himalayan peaks of nandadevi, trishul, nandaghunti among others. Perched on an altitude of 1,700 metres above sea level and located inside the district of Chamoli. Lying en route the connection between Kumaon and Garhwal region this place is frequented by backpackers and is a wonderful way of exploring the untouched pristine beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas.
